Abstract
The vortex tube is a simple device for energy separation. Visualization of a streak lines on the wall of vortex tube are compared with Wall temperature profiles to understand for energy separation. The main flow is air and tubes are made of pyrex and stainless. The geometric conditions of vortex tube are vortex nozzle area ratio(Sn=0.155) and cold end orifice diameter ratio(¥ä=1.0). The visualized experimental results show that there is an apparent sudden changing position of wall streak lines, which may indicate the stagnation position of vortex flow. The visualized stagnation position approach to the vortex generator by increasing of cold flow ratio and input pressure; those phenomena are consistent with wall temperature profiles and other previous experimental results.
